The tulane 10 are officially finishing up anatomy class with the abdomen and GI block! We were able to dissect and view the fat and muscles that make up the abdominal wall as well as the gastrointestinal tract {esophagus, stomach, small intestine and large intestine}. We also dissected the vasculature of the abdomen and studied the branches of the aorta and inferior vena cava. We finished our dissection with the retroperitoneum. The videos show us learning how to open the kidney, which will come in handy during the GI block in our Surgical Pathology class next semester and our future careers. ~We found some interesting pathologies in our cadavers during this block. Do you see any pathologies in the pictures above?~
