A day in the life of a first-year (fall edition) Taylor MacGowan

The last 3 months have included some of the best days of our time in PA school and some that proved to be more challenging. One of the best days of the year was the day we found out where we would be going for our clinical rotations. We were surprised with masks personalized with our names and clinical sites. There was so much thought put into making our match day special.

Following match day, we were faced with a ‘life altering hurricane’. Thankfully our entire class was able to evacuate and there was only minimal damages to some of our apartments. We were able to return to campus sooner than originally anticipated but doing classes for a few weeks from across the country was not the same.

This past year has been a roller coaster between navigating a new city, a global pandemic and Hurricane Ida but the hardest part of the entire semester was saying goodbye to our classmates as we prepare for our clinical year and disperse across the country. We had multiple one “last time” nights because we were in denial about leaving each other. I feel so prepared to start clinical year and I can’t wait to see all of the incredible things my classmates and I accomplish in the next year. |
