Matthew J. MimsMatthew J. Mims was born in Baton Rouge and raised in the very small town of Maringouin, LA. He graduated from Northwestern State University in 2016 with a BS in Biomedical Science and Minor in English. Throughout life, he has enjoyed hunting, fishing, as well as writing and performing poetry. He taught English at a Montessori School for two years, until he was eager to reignite his love for science, where he then worked as a Cytology and Grossing Technician in a pathology lab. Working next to four Pathologists' Assistants on a daily basis outlined and solidified his footing in patient care. Having the desire to remain in the South, Tulane's doors were the only one that he wanted to walk through to learn and understand what it means to be a Pathologists' Assistant. He is one of the Class of 2021's Advocacy Representatives to spread the knowledge of the PA profession. Matthew strongly believes that "repetition is the father of learning; and the second time you try, you will surely be less wrong than the first."
